My name is Rauful Alam. I was born and raised in Bangladesh. After completing my undergraduate degree in Bangladesh, I moved to Stockholm University in Sweden, where I earned my MS and PhD in Organic Chemistry. With a prestigious scholarship from the Swedish Chemical Society, I joined one of the Ivy League schools, the University of Pennsylvania, for my postdoctoral research.

A versatile and accomplished Medicinal Chemist with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and a distinguished postdoctoral research background, coupled with over six years of extensive expertise in designing and synthesizing small molecules, specializing in CNS drug discovery. Possessing comprehensive experience in all stages of drug discovery, from hit identification to lead optimization and preclinical development, coupled with a robust understanding of the pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD) relationship. Apart from my scientific background, I am a passionate writer. I write in Bengali, my mother tongue, and have written multiple books.
